Neil Nedley, M.D. is a full-time practicing internal medicine physician in Ardmore, Oklahoma. He became interested in helping with depression due to the many patients coming to him with various difficult-to-diagnose disorders, such as unexplainable abdominal cramping or psychosomatic chest pain. His fascination with depression began in 1999, and continues to grow as he uncovers new studies on mental and physical well-being. This video is filmed in front of a live audience. Dr. Nedley lives with his wife, Erica, and their four sons, Joel, Allen, Nathan, and Justin.

As part of the program you take a "Before" and an "After" test which is a 63 question test. You get this questionnaire in your workbook but we have a short Self Test for you to complete now to get an idea on how severe your depression is. To Download a .pdf version of the test, click here and print it out then circle the appropriate number for each item. When you register for the program, we will ask you what your score was so have it ready.
Add the numbers from each column above, and place the totals in the corresponding boxes below (on your piece of paper), then add across to determine your final symptom score for the Self Test.
Examples: Since column A is always equal to 0 (zero), this blank is already filled with a zero. If you circle four "1"s in column B, then your total for that column is "4". If you circle three "2"s in column C, then your total for the column is "6". If you circle nine "3"s in column D, then your total for that column is "27". (These are all hypothetical totals.)
A__0__ + B_____ + C_____ + D_____ = __________ Total Score
If you answered B, C, or D for Question 9, be sure to see a health professional as soon as possible, even if it means going to the local Emergency Room. Where there is LIFE, there is HOPE!
Major depression is a concern if you have answered questions 1 or 2 with B, C, or D and have a score as indicated below:
You will have this same test in your workbook when you receive it.
NOW THE GOOD NEWS,
YOU CAN RECOVER FROM DEPRESSION!
Where there is LIFE, there is HOPE!
